"We are a curious amalgam of nationalities, a mixture of rationality and Scottish dedication, to which we add the English common sense and spontaneity, emotion and natural Portuguese talent."
There is a natural affinity between wine and family. The long-term vision, beyond commitment and dedication over the generations, are essential to the success of a family wine company. A newly planted vineyard needs time to produce great wines and often requires the work of a lifetime to produce the best results. The Symington family, with Scottish, English and Portuguese ancestry, has been present in the Douro for five generations - since 1882 - but if we follow the lineage of the family through the great-grandmother of the present generation, the Symington connection to Douro wines goes back to time 14 generations, transporting us until the middle of the seventeenth century and the very beginnings of the history of Port wine.

Graham’s 20 Year Old Tawny has an amber, golden tawny colour. On the nose, it shows an excellent bouquet with a characteristic ‘nutty’ character and delicious mature fruit with hints of orange peel, exquisitely mellowed by careful ageing. On the palate, it is rich, softly sweet and smooth, perfectly balanced, with a long and elegant finish.
GASTRONOMY
Graham’s 20 Year Old Tawny should be enjoyed slightly chilled and pairs extremely well with nuts, dried fruits and fruitcake but also with vanilla ice cream or crème brûlée.
