The Grand Reserva’s nose is very fresh and intense with notes of wild black fruits and black cherries balanced with seductive hints of licorice. The aromas become more complex due to subtle notes of vanilla from the wood. In the mouth, the wine is fabulously concentrated, and has firm tannins and a smooth texture. The very persistent finish, strongly displays the intensity of the wines of the Douro Superior.

GASTRONOMY

This wine matches with meats, cheeses and Mediterranean cuisine.

Casa Agrícola Roboredo Madeira

CARM - Casa Agrícola Roboredo Madeira, Lda is a strictly familiar company, having the family that originated its documented activity from the middle of the century. XVII. The agricultural activity has always been centered, in the region where the Douro River begins its journey exclusively in the Portuguese territory, where the oldest demarcated region of the world - Douro Demarcated Region and Port Wine - begins.

Our winery is equipped with the latest technology and enables complete control oftemperature, essential for our region of extremeclimates. After grapes arrive at thewinery, we eliminate clusters which are notin perfect condition. The grapes are thenvinified with total de-stemming, soft crushingand thermal shock followed by a periodof cold pre-fermentative maceration in thewine press for about 12 to 24 hours. Themust is transferred to broad and low fermentationtanks, where the wines fermentfor about 10 days at temperatures between24 and 26º C. Malolactic fermentation occurrednaturally and is finished in late December.Part of the fermentation processwas made in oak barrels.
