The color is open, violet and slightly concentrated. The nose is complex and true to the profile of old vines and Baga on clay-limestone soil. It has notes of wild fruits and spices, menthol and floral nuances, and some evolution in the bottle that gives it complexity. In the mouth it is delicate, elegant and very fine thanks to the freshness of the fruit and the excellent acidity. Finishes long and almost spicy. It is a wine that escapes clichés and reveals a fresh and sophisticated profile from Bairradio.
António Maia Ferreira Faria was one of the mythical Bairrada producers in the 1990s. Wines such as Tonel 5 1990 or Reserva 1991 will forever be recorded in the history of Bairrada. For Dirk Niepoort (who became the distributor of these wines), being able to work these magnificent vineyards is a huge privilege. We will try, year after year, to honor the late António Maia Ferreira Faria and her son João Pedro, today responsible for the work in the vineyards, producing timeless wines, Deep and full of character.
