The origin of Ballantines dates back to 1827, when George Ballantine set up a small shop in Edinburgh. The company specializes in blended whiskies and rapidly becomes a synonym of whisky of great quality. In 1895, Queen Victoria confers a note of nobility to the whisky rewarding George Ballantine & Son with the Royal Warrant. Later, in 1938, Ballantines obtains the privilege of using the royal arms, thus considering itself as a member of the Scottish nobility. The crest, a sign of nobility, is since then enhanced in each Ballantines bottle. Ballantines Finest is a Scotch whisky complex of refined and elegant blend, with a slightly golden colour. The unmistakable flavour is a result of the malted flavours of the Miltonduff and Glenburgie regions which are present in Ballantines Finest through notes of chocolate, apple and vanilla.
