In the summer of 1886, with the help of his seven sons, two daughters and a stonemason, William Grant began building his distillery by hand, stone by stone. After a year of work it was ready, and William named it Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer. Now, more than 125 years after its establishment, Glenfiddich is one of the few malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and is the world is most awarded single malt Scotch whisky. Carefully matured in the finest Spanish sherry and American bourbon oak casks for at least 12 years. Married and matured in oak vats for complete harmony of aroma and flavour.
