THE STORY OF GLENKINCHIEIn 1825, farmers John and George Rate built and operated the distillery under the name Milton Distillery until it was licenced and renamed in 1837. Though it was transformed into a sawmill in 1853, the distillery eventually returned to its ‘natural state’ – and much-improved – state, becoming the redbrick Victorian masterpiece we know today.

The nose is quite light, yet fragrant. Notes of fresh cereal and grist, some barley sweetness and a nutty note. Acacia honey creeps in with gentle warmth. The palate is very fruity with notes of Madeira and sweet stewed fruits. A hint of calvados and tannic oak lining the mouth. There is a freshness and roundness to this dram. The finish is of medium length with notes of cereal and a fresh greenness.
How to Serve & Paring
Glenkinchie 12 Year Old makes a delightful aperitif. Serve it in a martini glass with a few drops of water for a little flare. Fragrant, light and even creamy, Glenkinchie works magic when paired with cheese cake or even Cullen Skink. Try Glenkinchie with your favourite savoury snacks to find which pairs best.
