The word midori, which names this famous melon liqueur, in Japanese means "green". Produced with the guarantee of the Suntory distillery, famous for the production of Japanese Whiskey, the midori began its history with great success: Backed by the giant suntori, it was released outside of Japan in 1978 with lots of stern and circumstance, in the famous club of New York Studio 54. Midori is an excellent liqueur made from melon, quite refreshing, especially when served with long drink mixed with pineapple, lemon or orange juices and of course, with lots of ice. It also serves as the basis for various cocktails that need the touch other than melon.
