The tasting notes for the 2007 Mouton Rothschild reveal hints of fresh blackcurrant and blackberry; these primary notes have now matured into an elegant symphony, accompanied by subtle hints of tobacco and earthy undertones. The tannins, once firm and vibrant in their youth, have softened into a silky texture that harmonises perfectly with the wine’s structured acidity. The finish is long and lingers with a subtle yet striking minerality.
A testament to the resilience of Bordeaux’s wine-growing elite, Château Mouton Rothschild’s 2007 Mouton Rothschild stands as a testament to the potential inherent in a challenging vintage. With this year marked by capricious weather that tempered initial enthusiasm, diligent and masterful winemaking has skilfully crafted a wine of depth and unexpected nuances.
