On the nose, intense notes of noble rot with candied pear and lemon, orange marmalade, delicate flowers (linden, frangipani) and a hint of almond. On the palate, a lively and very indulgent attack reminiscent of apricot jam, followed by a dense, creamy texture with notes of beeswax, caramel and quince marmalade; the finish lingers with a hint of salinity and subtle bitterness that bring out the candied bitter orange - a classic Yquem signature.

Château d’Yquem 2022 is the legendary Sauternes that has been classified since 1855 as the only “Premier Cru Supérieur”—a status created to recognize the wine’s uniqueness and the meticulous, berry-by-berry selection process that has defined Yquem for centuries. 2022 was an “exceptional” sunny year: prolonged heat and drought accelerated ripening, and only the rain on October 15 allowed Botrytis cinerea to spread rapidly, paving the way for a magnificent harvest between September 20 and October 26. The result is an exuberant, powerful Yquem with tremendous aging potential.
