Witha magnificientambercolourandintense tonality, Adega Velha XO presentsa richandcomplexaroma, characterizedbynotes ofberriesanddriedfruits, resulting from the 12-month aging in Vale D. Maria casks. In the mouth it shows an excellent aromatic complexity and a velvety texture in a smooth and silky finish with notes of fruits, honey and spices.
Ideallyservedas anafter-mealdigestiveattherecommendedtemperatureof18 to 20ºC.
Thegrapes, whichare selecteddueto theirhighacidityandlowsugar content, createa light andbalancedredwine. Thewineisthensubjectto twoslow andcarefuldistillationsin Charentaisalembicstill, broughtfromtheregionofCognacin France. Afterthedistillationprocess, thebrandy issubjectto anageingprocessin frenchoakbarrels. The final blend, with an average of 12 years of aging, was submitted to a 12 month aging in Vale D. Maria Port wine casks, ensuring the preservation of the original Brandy characteristics.
