In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port Wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, the Burmesters and Gilbert stood out for their rigor and knowledge of Port wine, bringing the name Burmester to the highest level of quality and international recognition. At the end of the millennium, Burmester is still owned by Amorim until it is acquired by the Sogevinus group, the current owner of the company. We can consider Burmester as a crop specialist with magnificent harvests that he has at his disposal and which he has been releasing regularly. Yet its Vintage Port is of excellent quality, showing its splendor in great vintage years.
