BURMESTER estº 1750

In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port Wine to Europe and the British Isles. The family name comes from the town of Moelln in northern Germany, deriving from the title Burgomestre, which means head of municipality.

In the late eighteenth century, a society was dissolved and Henry Burmester''s constitutional son, with his sons, Frederick and Edward, a new Port company, H. Burmester & Sons.

Lively red colour with hints of brown. Magnificent aromas of caramelized milk fudge, dried fruit and fine spicy notes. Captivating, appealing, holder of a delicate texture and an endless finish. An outstanding Colheita, with fine character provided by the aging in wood casks.

Slightly refreshed, expresses all the finesse and sophistication when combined with caramel desserts, dried fruits and spices, like caramel fondant with apple and ginger jelly, tatin tart, burnt cream and chesses of minimum intensity.
