BURMESTER estº 1750
In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port Wine to Europe and the British Isles. The family name comes from the town of Moelln in northern Germany, deriving from the title Burgomestre, which means head of municipality.
In the late eighteenth century, a society was dissolved and Henry Burmester's constitutional son, with his sons, Frederick and Edward, a new Port company, H. Burmester & Sons.

A bright garnet colour with orange hues. A broad, perfumed nose, with intense aromas of dried fruit and spice, notes of toffee and a hint of toast. In the mouth it is full-bodied, unctuous and complex, while revealing remarkable elegance that extends into a persistent finish.
Perfect when chilled - a wonderful aperitif. The richness of its aromas and flavours are ideal for any type of dessert. We especially recommend it with a pear and raspberry volau-vent, a spiced pumpkin pudding, or a coconut chiffon cake with dulce de leche.
