Deep brick red color, with brownish hints. The aroma is very fresh, with notes of candied fruits, especially plum and fig, aromas of dried fruits and smoky notes. In the mouth it is refreshing, with good acidity and lots of fruit. Dry, elegant, silky and very long finish.
Serves well with dried fruits and jams. Desserts with egg, coffee or vanilla jam. Almond pie. As an aperitif, if served chilled.
Colheita Ports are Tawnies which come from a single vintage and are aged in 550 L old barrels for a minimum period of 7 years prior to bottling. This wine is a delicious way to end off a meal and also matches very well with desserts, dried fruit or as an aperitif served with foie gras.
