The color is ruby, intense with violet hints. On the nose, notes of wild fruits, spices and figs stand out. In the mouth it has the Niepoort signature. Structure and elegance. It starts sweet and ends dry with surprising acidity. This late Bottled Vintage is one of the few in the sector bottled with a cork stopper and not with a bar top. This means that at Niepoort we believe that this bottle can either be opened now or benefit from aging in the bottle for many years.
The LBV is aged for 4 to 6 years in large oak barrels and vats. The winemaking and aging methods are made from a selection of full-bodied, high-quality red Ports from a single year. The LBV is a category of Port Wine that became popular in the 60s of the last century, and which came to fill the gap that existed between Ruby and Vintage Port. The length of internship to which the LBV is subject allows it to appear mature and rounded, It can be drunk young, right after bottling.
