Complex black fruit, spices and dark chocolate with nuts. Its warm notes of cocoa, tobacco and black fruit are finely balanced with fresh notes of mint and eucalyptus.

Serve at 12-14ºc with local sheep's cheese, almond or walnut pies, chocolate mousse or dark chocolate. Delicious with red berries.

This fortified wine has been produced in Mouchão since the winery was built in 1901. The best grapes from Alicante Bouschet were harvested by hand and trodden by foot in traditional stone presses. The grapes are thus gently macerated before and during the fermentation process. When the desired alcohol level is reached, as well as the desired aromas and extraction, neutral wine spirit is added to stop fermentation and thus maintain a certain sugar level while obtaining an alcoholic volume of about 20 %. The subsequent stage will take place for a minimum of 5 years in old 2,200L barrels, with sweet notes already present resulting from several decades of use.
