The aromas of black plum and wild berries, with a very characteristic mint note, are there. But the classic profile of the bottle is already asserting itself. In the mouth it has a beautiful volume and persistence, with notes of ripe fruit causing a sensation of sweetness that is diluted in the barrel mark (one year of aging in new French oak barrels), in the acidity, in a structure of soft tannins, but well present, and a delicious aftertaste dominated by spice.
Excellent for game (hare, rabbit), roast lamb, roast pork, Portuguese stew and all kinds of meat dishes with an intense flavor.
Located in the Portuguese region of Alentejo, Quinta de Dona Maria is recognized for its 18th century Palace, which not only translates into a historical landmark, but has also been linked to wine production for over 150 years. In 1988, through the new owner Júlio Bastos, the wines produced at this Quinta began to be marketed nationally and internationally, gaining recognition from the general public and wine critics.
