Naturally complex, the aromatic notes of wild berries combine with notes of rock rose and rosemary and, in the background, a discreet touch of barrels, showing the well-integrated wood. In the mouth it is quite powerful, with spicy notes, assertive but polished tannins and hints of tea and tobacco. Firm structure where balance and freshness stand out. It will evolve very well in bottle. Aging for 10 months in 400L American oak barrels, until transferred to vats where preparation for bottling was carried out. Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and a mixture of noble grape varieties. The ideal choice for a special moment.
The fruit for the Altano Reserva red wine comes exclusively from Symington family Quintas, principally those located in the Douro Superior, but also from other vineyards in the Cima Corgo sub-region of the Douro. This Altano Reserva 2017 is made up primarily of Touriga Nacional, complemented by Touriga Franca chosen from vineyards in the Rio Torto Valley, as well as a field blend component from old vines in our vale da Vilariça properties.
