Distinct and impressive on the nose. Despite being very austere, it reveals great class and complexity. Full-bodied, but not heavy, with a high concentration of black fruits and spices, it has abundant tannins, but always fine as a result of prolonged maceration. Dense, with a remarkable structure, it has a harmony that impresses throughout the tasting. Very long finish.

Batuta is very flexible in combination with meat and fish such as monkfish.

After a difficult year like 2022, another Batuta appears, in an increasingly intense and refined style, with a complexity and austerity that make it a great wine for many years to come. The origin of this wine continues to be the very old vineyards of Quinta do Carril. These lands in the Cima Corgo area, facing north, have a very curious appearance: their soils are crossed by water sheets, making the land less dry than usual in the region, which allows for slower maturation, especially in hot and dry years. These rare vineyards in the Douro have small productions, and the fact that it is a wine that requires excessive attention and rigor at all stages, makes the process complicated and expensive. All this makes Batuta a very limited production wine.
