The color is concentrated with violet tones. The nose begins delicately with notes of violet, raspberry and rhubarb, to later reveal notes of graphite, fresh herbs and spices. In the mouth it presents a pleasant freshness and acidity, precise structure and tannins, with a spicy and persistent finish. He's young, but he has a long life ahead of him.
Batuta is very flexible in combination with meat and fish such as monkfish, squid or roasted octopus.
The grapes to produce this wine come from the Carril vineyard, a vineyard that is over 70 years old facing north, and from old vines that are around 100 years old, close to Quinta de Napoles. Batuta results from a delicate vinification, with prolonged macerations, but with little extraction where all the details are carefully considered to obtain a complex, fine and elegant wine. It is full of concentration, typical of old Douro vines, but at the same time fresh and delicate.
