The origin of the grapes grown in field blend allowed to combine the great aromatic complexity of the Old Vines with the great concentration of the Douro Superior. Notes of very ripe fruit, rock rose and spices, balanced with the freshness of the Touriga Nacional. The long ageing in oak barrels added elegance and structure to this wine. Great ageing potential.
At last, and dare i say not the least, producing the wines i´ve always dreamt of, gave me a new lease on life.

Grapes from old vines of Douro Superior, with an average age of over 40 years, in field blend, grown on schist soils. In one of the most remote areas of the Iberian peninsula, in the area between the Upper Douro and Beira Alta, it was in the family that was born the passion for the aromas and scents of these lands that shaped the character and brand of the Portuguese "terroir", expressed by native castes, to which the winemaker gives his own style and an international profile.
