A beautiful floral expression where notes of roses and rockrose stand out, well defined by the clarity of the aromatic freshness. Sensation of great purity of the fruit and gracefulness of the whole, to which the freshness of the altitude of the plots that are at its origin may have contributed. Deep and intense on the palate, imposing and assertive, with spicy tannins giving the usual size and tension of Vesuvius wines - but without ever sacrificing balance.
Touriga Franca, from the vineyard plots at the top of Vale da Teja, and Touriga Nacional, originating from the Quinta Nova vineyards, located at an altitude of about 450 meters, are the pillars of the Quinta do Vesuvio DOC Douro plot every year . The Quinta Nova vineyard was acquired by DŞ Antónia Adelaide Ferreira in the mid-19th century, who could not have imagined that these high-altitude vines would prove so valuable for the property's reds at the beginning of the 21st century.
