Lagar de Baixo is a delicate and complex red wine. The color is bright and open, with some violet hints. On the nose it has floral nuances and aromatic herbs, notes of cherry and pomegranate. Barrel aging complements the profile with spicy notes such as vanilla pods. In the mouth it is round, very polished and elegant, without neglecting concentration and freshness. Finishes long and persistent.

Very good accompaniment to game dishes (partridge, wild boar), baked cod and dishes with legumes (red beans, lentils).

This area of Bairrada produced wines that were light in color and alcohol content, elegant and refined, but with enormous aging potential. In 2012, with the acquisition of Quinta de Baixo, it was possible to recreate the Lagar de Baixo brand with a classic profile that dignified the nobility of the Baga variety in Bairrada. Lagar de Baixo red is the result of joining very old vines with very young vines: a complex and serious red, but with some youth and vigor.
