The color is violet of slight concentration. The nose is precise, very delicate and complex. It starts with floral notes and other drier ones like tobacco, has a base of cherry and wild berries like blackberry, evolves into spices and soon reveals menthol nuances. In the mouth it has a delicate, elegant structure, but with nerve and an acidity that gives it longevity. Finishes long, persistent and spicy.
Goes well with roast kid, dishes with sausages, cod in the oven or vegetarian dishes with legumes.
Poeirinho is a wine produced only with grapes from our vineyards at Quinta de Baixo, where we practice organic viticulture, with SATIVA certification. Poeirinho, whose name is the old designation of the Baga variety, is a tribute to the great Bahian wines of the past, which were light in color and alcohol content, but which had enormous aging potential. Dirk Niepoort's great passion for this variety and for the fantastic terroir of Bairrada, has made him, over the last few years, look for small plots of Baga, with very old vines, scattered around the Cantanhede area.
