The Poeirinho Garrafeira 2015 shows a color in violet tones. Nose of enormous complexity, very expressive in the notes of red fruits, some spices and with a very fresh floral side. The purity of aromas and its enormous freshness are impressive. The limestone terroir vibrates in the aroma and enhances the elegance and finesse of the Baga variety. Full of character, this Garrafeira has a fantastic balance. Refreshing but very long and fine aftertaste, it grows as it tastes. Elegant but deep, Garrafeira will age very well in the bottle.
Goes very well with roast kid, dishes with sausages, cod in the oven or vegetarian dishes with legumes.
The Poeirinho, whose name reflects the ancient name of the Baga variety, is like a tribute to the great Bairradinos wines of the past and this Garrafeira is no exception. With the first edition of Poeirinho Garrafeira in 2012, Dirk Niepoort decided again to make a new Poeirinho Garrafeira in 2015 using two old barrels for the wine to undergo a long aging at Quinta de Baixo. Incredibly, the wine always maintained an enormous freshness and its long aging allowed it to gain more complexity but at the same time accompanied by an enormous vivacity.
