Aromas of Mediterranean forest, with balsamic notes of caruma and resin. Large and complex in the mouth, juicy and expressive with flavors of forest fruits and suggestions of cloves. It reveals a structure marked by well-woven tannins and the remarkable acidity that gives great precision to the whole. The varied composition of grape varieties gives the wine a very own record, with a gastronomic profile and a promising evolution potential.
Located on the slopes of the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, near Portalegre, the Fonte Souto vineyards - planted between 490 and 550 meters high - benefit from conditions of greater freshness and humidity than the areas of the hot Alentejo plain. Transition soils between this and granite, predominantly shale, ensure an ideal balance between good levels of water retention and good drainage. The wines express the freshness and the balance that they derive from the high quotas, as well as the structure and complexity that result from mature vineyards of low yields.
