Aromas of black fruits, which reveal blueberry and blackberry with hints of licorice and ginger and, in the background, some smoked notes intertwined with notes of forest and pine needles. Portentous on the palate, compact, dense and complex. Formidable structure with expressive tannins, tamed by the extraordinary balance provided by the acidity that provides a good presence and testifies to the mild and fresh growth cycle. In a second wave of the tasting, notes of dark chocolate, splashes of pepper and black tea emerge. Considerable aging potential.
Vinha do Souto is a wine made from grapes from the selective vintage of plots where very special and special conditions are recognized. It deals with some specific areas of Alicante Bouchet and Syrah, where the reduced vigor of the vineyard and the low yields, allow to produce grapes and wines that, maintaining the profile naturally fresh of the mountain range, have a concentration and complexity absolutely remarkable.
