Rich aromas of pomegranate intertwine with subtle notes of raspberry and plum, along with hints of cedar and hay. On the palate, red fruits – notably raspberry and cherry – come to the fore, followed by a hint of watermelon. These are followed by herbaceous notes and a sprinkling of white pepper.
Quinta da Fonte Souto, near Portalegre, was the Symington family’s first wine-growing project outside the Douro region. The cool microclimate, the nature of the soils and the ripening conditions of the vineyard enable the production of high-quality wines with a distinct identity of their own.
