The color is lighter than that of 2020, despite the wood aging. On the nose, you can feel the Atlantic iodine, citrus, apricot, hazelnuts, tobacco and hints of spices. In the mouth it is structured, but denser than you would expect, with an acidity that balances the almost salty aftertaste.
Accompanying suggestion: Baked fish, seafood rice, white meats. Vegetarian suggestions: Pasta with cheese.
The Niepoort White Reserva 2021 is harvested earlier than usual on the island, ages in stainless steel and is composed of three varieties: Verdelho, Arinto dos Açores and Terrantez do Pico. One more project as a challenge, and a path, with the certainty that the path is made by walking and, of course, that Challenges are Niepoort's middle name!
