This wine offers Chablis-style elegance with notes of apricot and peach complemented by citrus fruits and a touch of honeysuckle. Hazelnut tones add complexity while a subtle tobacco essence remains. Its refreshing acidity is balanced by a salty finish, which leaves a delicious and persistent sensation on the palate.
Seafood, braised fish dishes (caldeirada), as well as white meats. Serra da Estrela soft cheeses.
António Maia Ferreira Faria was one of the mythical producers of Bairrada in the 1990s. Wines such as Tonel 5 1990 or Reserva 1991 will forever be engraved in the history of Bairrada. For Dirk Niepoort, who became a distributor of these wines, being able to work these magnificent vineyards is a huge privilege. Year after year, we will try to produce timeless wines, deep and with character, honoring the late António Maia Ferreira Faria and his son João Pedro, today responsible for the work in the vineyards.
