Quinta de Covela

In 2011, after a brief period of abandonment, Quinta de Covela rose again with new owners from areas as diverse as finance, agriculture and media. Aware of the excellent reputation of the brand that Covela wines have left among oenophiles, they opted to bring back the old team, namely winemaker Rui Cunha, involved in the original project since 1992 and responsible for creating Covela wines since 1998. These continue to be assemblages of Portuguese and international grape varieties, with Avesso and Touriga Nacional serving as the mainstays. Arinto, Chardonnay, Viognier and Gewürztraminer reinforce the Avesso in the whites, while Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot Noir - the three main grape varieties of Bordeaux wines - complement Touriga Nacional to generate reds with a strong personality.

Color: Golden straw with silver reflections. Nose: Complex, deep and intense. Notes of honeysuckle, lychee, pineapple and gardenia. The oak influences the complexity of the blend with subtlety. Palate: Unctuous, balanced acidity, excellent mouthfeel and aroma, long and persistent finish. A wine with soul.

GASTRONOMY

Great to accompany white meat dishes, oven-roasted fish and soft cheeses. Excellent aging wine.
