This wine associates its quality to the name of the Carthusian monks, since 1587, who practiced a solitary life of prayer in the Monastery of Santa Maria Scala Coeli, in Évora. It is the result of a careful selection of grape varieties in the oldest vine parcels of Fundação Eugénio de Almeida. It was first produced in 1987.
