Open ruby color, complex aromas of aging in wood, wild fruits and dried herbs. In the mouth it is fresh and structured with well-worked tannins and with a long-lasting finish already with secondary aromas of cigar box, aniseed and mint.
Produced with grapes from the old vineyards of Quinta dos Frades, which do not include the conventional Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Amarela and Tinto Cão. The vineyards are between 150 and 300 m in altitude with high density, soil mobilization with animal traction. The vast majority of these varieties were rejected for lack of color. However, they are shown to be able to preserve high levels of acids with moderate amounts of alcohol.
