The color is cherry. It has a very appealing and fine aroma, the red fruits stand out as well as the smoked notes supported by spicy nuances. On the palate it is very smooth, silky and elegant tannins, with a fresh acidity, which helps to reinforce the aroma in the mouth and which gives harmony and makes the wine sweet tooth. Very long finish.

It has been present in the Douro Demarcated Region since the 19th century. XVII, being considered one of the oldest grape varieties in the country. Tinto Cão is a late variety, which matures well and is resistant to diseases due to its thick skin. Despite being unproductive, it gives rise to complex and sweet-toothed wines. The vines spread across a dazzling geometric setting of terraces built by hand in shale typical of the region Coming from the Cima Corgo sub-region, the vineyards that gave rise to this wine, are facing west and installed at an elevation of 150 m.
